摘要:本文是一篇小学英语教学论文,小学阶段是大多数中国学生学习英语的第一个阶段。由于中英文发音的差异以及缺乏正确的发音指导,小学生在学习英语发音时可能会遇到许多困难。因此,英语教师有必要运用有效的方法来培养学生对英语语音的兴趣和信心,并在小学阶段进行正确的语音教学。随着现代教育技术和网络教育的发展,笔者提出了利用移动教育应用程序英语配音辅助小学生语音教学的设想。

在实际研究中,笔者主要运用问卷调查和访谈等方法,研究了英语应用辅助语音教学对学生学习语音兴趣的影响。此外,通过实验班教学实验,验证了英语应用辅助发音教学模式对小学生实际发音能力的影响,实验前问卷的结果表明,小学生对英语教学的重要性有了较为明确的认识英语发音和积极的英语发音态度,但对他们的语音表现的评价并不高。

Chapter One Introduction


1.1 Background of the Study

Pronunciation of a language is a material carrier of information, through whichhumans achieve the purpose of information exchange (Xu, 2019). In terms of practicalsignificance, the accuracy of pronunciation is a key factor affecting the effect of oralcommunication. Good pronunciation is a key part of the source of language learners’confidence in speaking. In contrast, poor pronunciation is usually “the first barrier tocommunication” (Marks, 2011: xxvi).

Considering the existing methods of pronunciation teaching and feasiblepronunciation activities, the author noticed the method of mobile language learningand some English learning apps popular among English learners. Among them,English Fun Dubbing (henceforth EFD) aroused the author's interest. The authorbegan to think about whether the app can be used in the English pronunciationteaching of compulsory education, and wondered whether the EFD app could improvestudents’ interest in learning English pronunciation and what kind of teaching effectscould be achieved. In 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, onlineeducation is widely used in education from elementary education to adult education.Therefore, the author inferred that nowadays primary schools have been no stranger toonline education apps and this provided conditions and foundations for theimplementation of this research.

1.2 Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this research is to explore the application effect of EFD-assistedpronunciation teaching in the English classes of elementary school, especially theeffect of improving students’ interest in English pronunciation learning and theiractual English pronunciation proficiency.

Through the pronunciation test of primary school students and a questionnairesurvey on the status quo of primary school students’ pronunciation learning attitude,the author hoped to get a true reflection of the current primary school students’interest in pronunciation learning, their understanding of English pronunciation andtheir pronunciation performance. Aiming at the students’ current learning level, theauthor used the EFD app to assist classroom pronunciation teaching and launched a12-week controlled experiment, hoping that the author’s pronunciation teaching andexperiment can provide some references for future research. Through the post-test ofthe experiment, the author compared the pronunciation accuracy of the CC and ECgroup at an attempt to reflect the effectiveness of the EFD app in improving the pronunciation level of primary school students. For the questionnaire surveys andsample interviews of the experimental class, it is expected that they can reflectwhether the interest of students in English pronunciation learning has changed.

This research was conducted in an attempt to confirm the researcher’s idea, andalso to provide some reference for the future primary school English pronunciationteaching or the burgeoning mobile teaching.
